About Organization of Human Welfare (OHW):The Organization of Human Welfare (OHW) is a non-governmental organization and is a non-political, not-for-profit, and impartial organization with no bias towards a particular religion, ethnicity, or political belief. It has its own independent legal status and entity. OHW is operating since 2007 in the country with active membership with the national clusters and international donor agencies in Afghanistan including SWABAC, ACBAR, AICS, BAAG, AWN and most of the national and international Clusters operates based in Afghanistan.Job Description:The Hygiene Promoter will be responsible for mobilizing, educating, and supporting returnee communities to adopt safe hygiene practices. The role involves conducting hygiene awareness sessions, distributing hygiene kits, promoting handwashing, and ensuring community engagement in WASH activities.Principle Duties and Responsibilities: * Community Engagement and Hygiene Education

Conduct hygiene promotion sessions in target communities (household visits, group sessions, school programs, etc.)
Use participatory methods to encourage behavior change in hygiene practices (handwashing with soap, water treatment, safe food handling).
Support the formation or strengthening of community hygiene committees.
Ensure culturally sensitive and inclusive approaches in all hygiene promotion activities.
Hygiene Kit Distribution

Assist in organizing and distributing hygiene kits and ensuring proper sensitization on their use.
Monitor the use and effectiveness of distributed materials.
Offer basic guidance related to women's health, maternal and childcare, and hygiene practices.
Data Collection and Reporting

Collect data on hygiene practices, WASH-related disease trends, and community feedback.
Prepare regular activity reports, success stories, and challenges.
Coordination and Communication

Coordinate with WASH team members, local leaders, health staff, and protection actors to ensure integrated service delivery.
Ensure inclusion and participation of vulnerable groups (women, children, elderly, persons with disabilities).
Monitoring and Feedback Mechanisms

Assist in setting up community feedback and complaint mechanisms related to WASH services.
Monitor hygiene-related issues and refer protection or health concerns as necessary.

Job Requirements:Diploma or degree in Public Health, Social Science or related field.Minimum 2-3 years of experience in hygiene promotionKnowledge of public health and hygiene issues in emergency contexts.Familiarity with local cultural practices and languages.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in difficult conditions.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience facilitating sessions with diverse community groups.Submission Guideline:Interested and qualified candidates should send their cover letter with updated CVs to OHW's HR department - .
