- Ensure that the goals and objectives of the MHPSS are met as per the project proposal and work plan.
- Ensure the implementation and promotion of mental health and psychosocial support activities at the community level.
- Provide individual counseling and maintain confidentiality during service provision.
- Provision of quality MHPSS first aid service according to MHPSS national protocols.
- Collaborate with the Social Animators in the field and /or SWs for case management.
- Assess MHPS case's need for referral as per the referral criteria and ensure that the referral system is well followed, and obstacles are reported and discussed with the line manager to solve them.
- Identify major stressors for women and children in the community.
- Promoting psychological well-being and participation and strengthening coordination with other service providers for better MHPSS intervention and referrals.
- Regular updates and reports are shared with the line manager.
- The beneficiaries are well aware of Tdh and Caritas projects and its activities.
- Make sure during the beneficiaries' selection as per the defined selection criteria.
- Build relationships with the beneficiary to encourage trust, while listening their needs and concerns
- Respond to distressed beneficiary in a non-threatening manner and attempt to understand the source of their discomfort
- help the beneficiary manage their emotions through de-escalation techniques
- Prepare and maintain the beneficiary records and produce care plans and risk assessments
- Work with the beneficiary's families and careers, to help to educate them and the beneficiary about their mental health problems.
- visit the beneficiary in their home to monitor progress and carry out risk assessments with regard to their safety and welfare
- Provide psychoeducation sessions for MHPSS beneficiary and their respective families
- Ensure all aspects of work are in line with Tdh MHPSS intervention guidelines, key aspects of Psychological First Aid (PFA) and relevant aspects of IASC guideline in the context of the COVID-19 response.
- Liaise with the field team to ensure supportive communication for suspected or confirmed cases of COVID19.

- Responsible for reporting and communication of progress and achievement of the specific assigned tasks.
- Inform the line manager if any professional problems encountered
- Conduct all duties in a professional manner following MHPSS guideline.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks on an on-going basis, and adapt to a shift or change in priorities, including the ability to work a flexible work schedule as needed to meet deliverable deadlines
- Attend all the planned organizational training.
- Improve Community Awareness material, context-sensitive, with modern images that are understandable for beneficiaries who experience stress symptoms.
- Provide support to social workers and Social Animators in order to do the mapping of services in the eastern region.
- Developing and maintaining a service mapping (through referral questionnaire for specialized service providers) and an efficient referral pathway.
- Graduated from psychology department of a recognized institute or 2 years MHPSS trainings from IPSO or HealthNet TPO.
- 3 years in Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MH-PSS) or related field.
- Experience in applying Behavior Change Communication models.
- Fluency in oral and written communication in Pashto & Dari, including representation, liaison, and negotiation skills.
- Well aware of the community of good and bad practices including the context of working and adopting oneself to the community norms.
- Adapt communication to the intercultural environment.
