- Coordinate with and support WaSH team in the implementation of projects that facilitate communities to play more proactive roles
- Check the relevancy of the proposed activities to geographic area, resources and availability of skills in the targeted area
- Coordinate work plans for community mobilization and hygiene promotion with WASH Coordnator and or Regional WASH specialist
- Provide information on the proper use of hygiene kits
- Provide formal reports on project activities in a timely and efficient manner to the WASH coordinator
- Facilitate workshops and training/refresher sessions including on the job training for PSS/hygiene promoters at PUI targeted health facilities and MHTs.
- Evaluate the knowledge and skills of participants before and after training to measure effectiveness
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to health facilities PSS/hygiene promoters in their implementation of hygiene programs.
- Ensure that training materials and resources are available and accessible to participants
- Collect and analyze data related to hygiene practices and training outcomes for program improvement.
- Establish a system for receiving feedback from trainees and community members to enhance training effectiveness.
- Document success stories related to hygiene promotion activities.
- Promote hygiene practices within communities through outreach programs and events.
- Participate in the development and adaptation of IEC materials according to MOPH standards and guidelines as per need.
- Work closely with regional WASH specialist to ensure that all PSS/hygiene promoters at health facility level have enough hygiene related IEC materials.
- Facilitate WaSH related KAP survey.
- Assist with the hygiene baseline and end-line survey for each selected area.
- Analyze collected data to identify trends, challenges, and successes in hygiene promotion efforts.
- Coordinate with regional teams to ensure consistent data collection methods and reporting standards.
- Prepare and submit monthly and bi-weekly reports to the WASH national cluster, highlighting key findings and insights.
- Lead technical resolution and suggest strategic adaptation (guidelines, SOP, etc.) based on feedback and complaints, in collaboration with WASH coordination team;
- Actively participate in Monthly Accountability Meetings;
- Adhere to PU-AMI organizational policies (incl. CoC, Child protection policy, anti-fraud and anti-corruption policy, PSEA policy) and report any policy violations, suspicions, or allegations through the whistle-blower mechanism
- Support investigation based on needs when required in coordination with the relevant regional and National teams.
- 14th years diploma and or university degree in engineering, social sciences, public health, MA, education or other relevant degree with minimum 3 years' relevant experience in hygiene promotion training and WaSH preferably in I/NGOs.
- Be experienced in hygiene promotion activities and in a community health environment
- Strong knowledge/familiarity with hygiene promotion approaches with communities
- Ability and willingness to travel to field sites in order to follow up of work
- Ability to motivate PSS/hygiene promoters regarding active participation in project activities- Possess problem solving skills and adaptability
- Must have computer literacy specially MS offices and Outlook
- Good reporting and communication skills
- Fluency in Pashto, Dari and English
- Must be gender sensitized and respectful for local norms
- Ability to work under pressure often to strict deadlines
- Ability to work individually and in a team harmoniously with problem solving attitude.
