- Providing psychosocial services considering clients' culture and age.
- Providing awareness raising regarding PSS-related activities, PSS support and protection related issues.
- Ensuring the integration of mental/ PSS services in AFGA MHTs services through full engagement, participating in health education activities at the community level.
- Providing PSS counselling with individuals and groups as needed.
- As an important member of the MHT team, contributing to overall project-related activities, plan preparation, reporting, and documentation of the activities.
- MHT PSS counsellor will be the mental health and PSS focal person for all the related meetings and capacity building activities at the health facility and provincial level.
- Facilitating community members' engagement in mental health and protection-related meetings.
- Support other health staff in their work, particularly the midwife in her daily work.
- Proper record keeping of services, with extreme consideration of the clients' related information confidentiality.
- Conduct nutrition screening of all children 0-59 months.
- Conduct growth monitoring of all children under two years and register them.
- Conducting the GM of under 24 months and on-the-spot counselling to mothers of under 24 months children.
- Prepared the monthly IYCF and GM report
- Conduct appetite tests for all beneficiaries identified as SAM and MAM before registration into the nutrition program and during follow-up.
- Fill out the admission card for SAM and MAM children.
- Regularly conduct nutrition education sessions for caregivers of malnourished children
- Regular collection of nutrition data at the health facility level.
- Responsible for overall management of acute malnutrition.
- Registration of beneficiaries into OPD SAM and MAM program and frequent follow-up until exit from the program as per the national IMAM guidelines.
- Timely preparation and submission of monthly statistics, and stock reports.
- Discharge children according to specified discharge criteria in line with national nutrition protocol.
- Any other task assigned by the team leader.
- The candidates should be graduated from a registered university in the field of clinical psychology, general psychology or midwifery.
- Having skills in psychosocial support principles.
- 2 years of proven experience working as a PSS counsellor in the health sector in national or international NGOs.
- Having a good knowledge communication and solving problems.
- Basic knowledge of protection principles and services, particularly for women and children.
- Ability to make plans and prepare reports.
- Able to speak Pushto and Dari.
