- Oversee the implementation and monitoring of health and nutrition activities to ensure alignment with established guidelines and standards.
- Support nutrition program development through proposal writing, reporting, and data management to demonstrate impact and facilitate funding opportunities.
- Coordinate procurement processes for medical and nutrition supplies, track key indicators, and develop necessary tools to ensure timely and effective delivery service.
- Collaborate with the HMIS/MEAL Advisor to facilitate data collection, feedback integration, and interdepartmental coordination, enhancing the efficiency and learning capacity of the nutrition program.
- Oversee the implementation of health and nutrition activities, including the rollout of IMNCI, IPC measures, waste management, immunization, family MUAC approach, supply requests for nutrition supplies, IMAM activities, and strengthening MIYCN interventions.
- Ensure all activities align with health and nutrition clusters recommendations and MoPH national guidelines.
- Conduct regular supportive supervisions from the field sites and health facilities to ensure quality of health and nutrition services
- Implement health and nutrition standards with support from provincial public health and nutrition officers to improve the quality of nutrition services
- Provide health and nutrition related capacity building training and on-the-job training to the front-line healthcare providers
- Provide technical health and nutrition inputs and field data to support proposal development and feasibility assessments.
- Develop and compile reports for MDM and donors in collaboration with public health and nutrition Officers and relevant departments.
- Collect, review, and provide feedback on provincial reports related to TFUs, OPD SAM, MAM, and MIYCN activities, IMNCI, Immunization, IPC measures and ensuring timely data submission and entry into online databases.
- Monitor progress against key health/nutrition indicators monthly by reviewing reported achievements from provincial teams.
- Develop and maintain work-plan and trend analyses to support implementation and review.
- Regularly follow up with officers on health and nutrition data submission, accuracy, and online data entry.
- Identify procurement needs in collaboration with officers and facilitate timely health and nutrition program procurement requests, coordinating with logistics for delivery.
- Liaise with support departments (finance, procurement, logistics, HR, HMIS) to ensure efficient implementation of health and nutrition activities.
- Work with the Medical Coordinator to ensure health and nutrition budgets are efficiently used by reviewing monthly expenditures against objectives and timelines.
- Work with the Medical Coordinator to ensure health and nutrition activities incorporate feedback mechanisms, lessons learned, and continuous refinement.
- Respect and follow Mdm Safeguarding policy and never neglect, abuse, harm, or exploit children, young people, and adults at risk,
- Report any actual or suspected harm to the children and vulnerable adults caused by staff and the program.
- Medical Doctor, bachelor's degree in public health,
- A master's degree in public health or nutrition will be preferable
- At least 5 years' experience in health/nutrition project design and implementation working in an INGO or NGO in Afghanistan.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in health/nutrition related humanitarian programming in a senior or program management position.
- Preference will be given to female candidates.
- Strong understanding of health/nutrition surveys and reporting mechanisms and methodologies.
- Proven skills in training and capacity building of field staff on health/nutrition concepts and tools.
- In-depth knowledge of global humanitarian standards such as Sphere, Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS), and WHO standards.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Experience in community participation and consultative approaches to project implementation.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills in English, with a demonstrated ability to produce high-quality reports and documentation.
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly to field locations as required by the role.
