- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all FMIC rules and regulation.
- Take part in teaching and academic activities of Senior/Medical Officers regularly.
- Assure quality of care
- Assure continuity of care 24 Hours a day, 7 days a week in Outpatient and inpatient service
- Ensure to apply all IPSG standards and monitoring standards performing by team
- Adhere to departmental policies, procedures and objectives, ongoing quality improvement objectives and safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
- Any other tasks/assignment given by direct supervisor
- Conduct thorough evaluations of patients with hematologic and oncologic conditions.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and other advanced treatments.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Provide supportive care and manage symptoms and side effects related to cancer treatment.
- Perform bone marrow biopsies, lumbar punctures and other relevant procedures.
- Interpret diagnostic tests including blood tests, bone marrow aspirates, biopsies and imaging studies.
- Collaborate with Pathologists, Radiologists and other specialists for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Work closely with other healthcare professionals including Surgeons, Radiation oncologists, Pathologists, Nurses etc. to provide integrated care.
- Participate in tumor boards, case conferences and multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and treatment strategies.
- Coordinate patient referrals to other specialists or facilities as needed.
- Participate in clinical research and trials to advance the field of hemato-oncology.
- Stay informed about the latest advancements and best practices in hemato-oncology.
- Educate patients about available clinical trials and facilitate enrollment when appropriate.
- Educate patients and their families about hematologic and oncologic conditions, treatment options and coping strategies.
- Provide psychosocial support and resources to help patients and families navigate their diagnosis and treatment.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure all documentation meets the standards of the medical facility and relevant accrediting bodies.
- Participate in community outreach programs and educational workshops to promote awareness of hematologic and oncologic conditions.
- Collaborate with community organizations to enhance cancer care services and support networks.
- Periodic Responsibilities:
- Conducting CMEs inside & outside of FMIC for sharing knowledge and information and engage in professional development activities
- Participating in clinical forums and workshops
- Develop and maintain clinical pathways and protocols
- Attending departmental meetings and contribute to strategic planning
- Evaluating and reporting on patient outcomes and treatment effectiveness
- Participating goal-setting sessions with the medical team
- Developing and presenting annual report on Haemato-oncology services and patient care outcomes
- Participating in annual budget planning and resource allocation for the Haemato-oncology services.
- Contribute efforts to achieve Joint Commission International Accreditation mission at FMIC.
- Utilization of chemotherapy administration systems and infusion pumps.
- Familiarity with advanced diagnostic equipment and laboratory systems.
- Occasional exposure to high-stress situations involving patients in crisis.
- Potential for irregular working hours, including evenings, weekends and on-call duties, to provide 24/7 patient care.
- Excellent patient management skills and patient-oriented approach
- Strong clinical skills in evaluating and treating hematologic and oncologic conditions
- Be able to explain medical conditions to patients in clear and straightforward terms
- Ability to work under difficult working conditions
- Critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Having good time management skill
- Interpersonal skill and good communication skill in Dari, Pashto and English languages.
- Having good computer skill specially in MS Office programs
