Electrical Power Engineer

• Technical Specification Analysis:

• Carefully examine and interpret tender documents from DABS and other agencies, identifying all technical requirements and compliance considerations.
• Highlight and communicate potential technical risks, ambiguities, or gaps to management.
• Preparation of Technical Documents:

• Develop detailed compliance matrices clearly demonstrating alignment of offered products with tender requirements.
• Prepare professional and accurate technical submittals, proposals, datasheets, and clarifications in English.
• Product Selection and Validation:

• Evaluate technical datasheets, certificates, type-test reports, and standards (IEC, IEEE) to select the most suitable and compliant electrical equipment.
• Recommend optimal product choices based on quality, reliability, and technical specifications.
• Quality Assurance and Inspection:

• Conduct inspections and oversee acceptance tests to ensure received products precisely match specifications outlined in purchase orders.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation and digital records of product certificates, inspection reports, and test results.
• Technical Sales Support:

• Provide prompt, accurate technical support to the sales team and clients by clarifying product features, answering technical queries, and offering solutions that meet customer needs.
• Facilitate product demonstrations and technical presentations when required.
• Project Oversight and Management:

• Oversee and check distribution projects and their operations, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, address technical issues, and ensure successful project implementation.
• Market and Regulatory Monitoring:

• Regularly research and report on emerging electrical distribution technologies, competitive market trends, and any changes in national and international regulatory requirements.
• Advise management proactively on new products or market trends beneficial for the business.
• Documentation and Record-Keeping:

• Keep detailed, systematic records of all tender submissions, supplier communications, compliance certificates, and technical documents.
• Generate periodic technical reports and communicate findings clearly to senior management.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Closely collaborate with procurement, inventory, logistics, and finance departments to ensure efficient project execution from tender to final delivery.
• Act as a technical liaison between the company, suppliers, and customers, ensuring smooth operational integration.

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems specialization strongly preferred).
• Minimum of 4-6 years' experience in the electrical power sector, particularly related to electrical distribution equipment (cables, transformers, switchgear, etc.).
• Demonstrated expertise and familiarity with IEC, IEEE, and other international electrical standards.
• Proven experience analyzing and preparing tender and compliance documentation, especially with DABS or similar organizations.
• Strong technical documentation and report-writing skills in English; proficiency in Dari/Pashto desirable.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Good organizational, planning, and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues, customers, and suppliers.
• Proficiency with standard software (MS Excel, Word, Outlook), and knowledge of electrical engineering software such as AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar tools.
