Peace and Security Cluster The UNOPS Peace and Security Cluster (PSC) is a principal service provider in the field of mine action with the United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS), UNDP, UNICEF, Governments of mine-affected countries and other mine action partners. It is led by the Director, who has overall authority and accountability for the performance PSC on behalf of its clients. UNMAS Afghanistan is a programme under the overall direction and oversight of UNMAS New York and implemented by UNOPS under the Financial Regulations and Rules of UNOPS.Under the direct supervision of the Head of Project Unit (HPU), the Operations S...Under the direct supervision of the Head of Project Unit (HPU), the Operations Senior Officer - Coordination will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:Support the HPU in coordinating the activities of MATC by acting as the technical focal point.Review and assess the work of the MATC from a technical perspective, including through monitoring missions, and recommend improvements to the UNAMA Chief of Mine Action Section (CMAS) and the HPU.Support the CMAS and the HPU in the liaison with key MATC stakeholders (e.g. the Directorate of Mine Action Coordination), including by preparing progress reports and providing other information as required.Analyse data and latest mine action trends across Afghanistan and advise the CMAS and HPU on emerging needs to enable advocacy and resource mobilization, and review concept notes and project proposals from a technical perspective.Support the HPU in the development and technical review of solicitation documents, including statements of works, terms of references and other documents.
