Details:Mission and objectives:UN-Habitat has been working in Afghanistan since 1992 for sustainable urban development. High-impact projects have improved the living conditions for Afghan communities in vulnerable situations and contributed to the physical and social reconstruction of the country. Historically, UN-Habitat has focused on supporting government in the development of urban policies and regulations; strategic urban planning; increasing municipal revenue; establishing community-based organisations; addressing the land and housing needs of IDPs and returnees; and contributing to the provision of basic urban services. In the current context, UN-Habitat focuses on directly supporting the Afghan people through humanitarian assistance and basic human needs projects.UN-Habitat programmes and projects range from shelter projects to more sustainable housing solutions (including strong leadership on HLP rights); improved access to services, including water, education and social services; all projects are designed to reduce the impact of climate change through increasing the resilience of vulnerable communities.Context:Learning from the experience in the last 30 years and recognizing the realities of the current context in Afghanistan, UN-Habitat designs projects applying integrated, gender-sensitive, innovative and highly agile approaches, putting the needs of people first, targeting the most vulnerable and meeting local needs. The portfolio currently covers projects ranging from humanitarian responses to supporting recovery and meeting basic human needs.This assignment will support our mission to raise awareness and showcase the agency’s impactful work throughout the country; UN-Habitat’s Communications Unit is looking for 1 Online Volunteer to support efforts in increasing visibility and outreach of the agency through video production.Task type:Communication and social mediaTask description:Under the supervision of the UN-Habitat Communications Unit, the Online Volunteer will be expected to: - Produce 2 short elevator pitch videos highly enhanced with motion graphics that introduce UN-Habitat and its crucial work in Afghanistan. - Some footage will be provided, while additional footage will be sourced from free licensed platforms. - All branding guidelines will be shared with the Online Volunteer. - All submitted materials shall be considered the intellectual property of UN-Habitat Afghanistan.Requirements:The candidates should have: - Fully experienced with Adobe After Effects or related motion graphic production and designing tools. - Proficiency in video production tools such as Premiere Pro / Canva, or related tools - Ability to draft scripts and stories for videos - Creativity, attention to detail, and a passion for impactful visual communication - Ability to adhere to and implement corporate branding guidelines - Knowledge in Dari and/or Pashto Language Proficiency is an advantage.Work Hours: 11 - 15 hours per weekRequired education level:-
