We focus on reducing maternal mortality by providing quality and sustainable maternal-child health (MCH) and reproductive health (RH) services and information in 19 provinces of Afghanistan, namely Kabul, Balkh, Herat, Jawzjan Faryab, Nangarhar, Helmand, Kandahar, Baghlan, Kunduz, Badakhshan, Takhar, Samangan, Kapisa, Khost, Paktia, Farah, Bamiyan and Ghor, in coordination with the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) of Afghanistan.MSIA strives to enhance women's health outcomes in the aforementioned provinces by delivering vital reproductive and maternal-child health services through multiple channels such as centers, outreaches, the private sector, and MS Ladies (Family Health Houses).Job Description:
- Understanding of MSI-A mission and vision. Implementing/considering pharmacy standards
- Receiving and stocking medicine supplies based on Goods Issue Notes (GINs) and Good Recevie Notes (GRN) issued by Pharmacy Officer.
- Stock in and Stock out of medicine based on MSIA and pharmacy standard procedures. Proper usage of stock cards
- Labeling of medicine in Alphabetical or pharmacological group
- Implementing of First In, First Out (FIFO) & First Expired, First Out (FEFO) system in pharmacy stock
- Keeping proper records of all duplicate copies of documents (GRNs, Monthly medicine usage reports, stock cards, medicine requests, list of expired medicines…etc.)
- Medicine distribution to clients based on MSI-A clinic Doctor's prescriptions
- Preparing monthly medicine usage reports and submitting to a related officials for further processing
- Monthly physical stock count of medicine. Stock inventory
- Preparing required requests for medicine, medical consumables, and medical equipment
- Ensuring customers are fully informed of medicine usage based on Doctor's prescription
- Administration of pharmacy ( stock ) and be responsible for re-ordering stock of drugs and medical equipment based on requirements as directed by the Med. Stock Officer or clinic in charge and check for the expiry date of the medicine
- Maintaining pharmacy stocks based on MSI-A pharmacy supervision checklist
- Informing the pharmacy focal point at HO about the expiry of medical supplies 3 months in advance.
- To be able to work outside of normal working hours.
- Assistance in keeping your work areas in the center tidy, neat, and clean.
- To strengthen the referral system and refer patients to medical staff / other clinic facilities when required.

- Graduate from pharm-D( pharmacy Doctor) or have bachelor in pharmacy
- Demonstrated understanding of health system context and medical/ pharmaceutical market (or similar) in Afghanistan.
- High level of written and oral communication skills in Dari and English, with a confident and professional manner.
- Proven ability to effectively work across teams and with support teams outside Afghanistan
- 2 years, preferably with Health Providing National or International NGOs
- Keen intellect with strong analytical skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing and to make effective public presentations.
- Ability to work well with others in team environments
