- Support the Orthopedic Technician in fabricating, repairing, and maintaining orthopedic devices, including prosthetics, orthotics, braces, and splints.
- Assist in preparing materials, molds, and tools for device fabrication, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and proper storage.
- Learn and apply basic techniques for casting, molding, shaping, and assembling orthopedic devices under supervision.
- Patient Support and Assistance:
- Assist in measuring and assessing patients for orthopedic devices, prosthetics, and orthotics, following established procedures and guidelines.
- Provide support and assistance to patients during fittings, adjustments, and trials of orthopedic devices, ensuring comfort, fit, and functionality.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and rehabilitation teams to facilitate patient care and treatment activities as needed.
- Documentation and Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate records of patient appointments, device prescriptions, fittings, adjustments, and repairs in accordance with clinical protocols.
- Assist in managing inventory of orthopedic materials, supplies, and equipment, including stock tracking, replenishment, and organization.
- Ensure proper documentation and labeling of orthopedic devices and materials, including expiration dates and batch numbers.
- Cleaning and Sterilization:
- Assist in cleaning, sterilizing, and disinfecting orthopedic devices, tools, and equipment according to infection control guidelines and standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the orthopedic workshop, including work surfaces, equipment, and storage areas.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures to minimize risks of injury or infection during device fabrication and maintenance activities.
- Office Responsibility:
- Designing and implementing the work plan and obtaining approval from the project manager.
- Necessary coordination in the advancement of activities.
- Regular creation of filing system.
- Providing accurate daily, monthly and quarterly reports to direct supervisors.
- Run and update databases.
- Correct use of materials, tools and equipment related to the office.
- Regulating, maintaining and taking care of the property and goods of the department.
- Develop and streamline operational efficiencies.
- Contact delinquent accounts.
- Raising the level of knowledge and capacity building.
- Compliance with all ethical code, code of conduct, disciplines introduced by the organization.
- Obtaining complete knowledge about the organization and all the policies of the organization.
- Stay current with all regulations, requirements, and laws of government of Afghanistan
- Good behavior with clients and staff.
- Inform the direct commander in time of any kind of accidents that have happened.
- 2 years of proven experience as ortho technician.
- Having a diploma in orthopedic technician.
- Familiarity with company policies and legal guidelines of the field.
- Ability to learn a variety of job descriptions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Outstanding organizational and leadership skills.
- Good knowledge of computer
