- Support the WASH technical team in organizing and supervising field implementation of WASH activities, including assisting with field-level coordination for water supply works and ensuring tasks are completed to required quality standards.
- Assist technical staff during site activities (e.g., surveys/measurements and preparation activities) as required to enable timely implementation
- Supervise community labor and/or contractor work at site level as assigned, and document progress and issues for the technical lead.
- Monitor and supervise construction companies/contractors on-site to ensure works are implemented according to approved technical specifications, quality standards, timelines, and safety requirements; promptly document and report progress, non-compliance, and corrective actions to the WASH/Irrigation Engineer and project management.
- Coordinate with the technical team and procurement/logistics colleagues to support identification, handling, and field-level management of WASH tools and construction materials, maintaining basic site stock records as needed.
- Support capacity strengthening for community WASH structures (e.g., committees responsible for system management), including practical guidance related to routine upkeep and safe use of water infrastructure.
- Work with community leaders and relevant committees to ensure clear communication on roles, responsibilities, agreements, and work progress; document key discussions and issues raised by communities.
- Support inclusive participation in community activities in line with project expectations and local context.
- Provide regular field updates (progress, constraints, quality issues, and corrective actions) to the WASH technical lead and project management.
- Support basic activity monitoring and data collection needs in coordination with MEAL staff, as required by the project team.
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field
- Minimum of 4 years of related experience with national or international NGOs.
- Relevant technical background with practical experience in construction supervision and/or WASH infrastructure implementation.
- Experience working with communities and coordinating field activities in a respectful, culturally appropriate manner.
External: Community leaders, community members, and relevant local stakeholders engaged in WASH implementation.Required Languages - Fluency in Dari basic working knowledge of English preferred.Travel- This position will be based in Bamiyan. Up to 90% of travel to field sites in Bamiyan center and Yakawlang districts is anticipatedCRS is committed to providing daily allowances for mahrams who accompany female staff on day trips to the field, and per diem and accommodation for mahrams who accompany female staff on work-related trips that require overnight stays.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
